Rob enjoyed a very successful early career with a couple of top Toronto investment firms rising to EVP and Director, Asset Management at Dean Witter Reynolds. It was this early experience that helped shape the idea in Rob’s mind that investors need better data, better analysis, better insights and better advice.
With that motivation, in 1991, Rob founded Bell Kearns & Associates and co-founded BellCharts Inc. a research firm tracking and charting mutual fund performance that quickly grew to providing monthly analysis of more than 5,000 mutual funds to more than 15,000 subscribers.
Rob sold BellCharts to devote his attention to the clients of Bell Kearns & Associates and bring an institutional approach to data and analysis to high net worth individuals, families and foundations.

Helen Kearns
Chief Executive Officer
Helen Kearns has been a leader in capital markets in Canada for more than 30 years.
Prior to joining Bell Kearns & Associates, Helen was President of NASDAQ Canada where she introduced the NASDAQ trading platform to Canadian capital markets. In 1996 she founded her own institutional investment firm, Kearns Capital Limited which, in its first year, participated in over $1 billion in underwriting. Helen sold her interest in 1999.
Helen started in the investment business at Richardson Greenshields of Canada Limited, where she advanced to Head of Institutional Sales & Trading and a member of the Executive Committee. Additionally, Helen served three terms as a Governor of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Helen has served on several boards of directors including the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board(OTPPB) 2005-2011, and currently serves on the Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCO) Board, 2015-present. She has received many honours and awards of recognition throughout her career.
Helen joined Bell Kearns & Associates in 2006 as a shareholder and was appointed President later that year.

Susan Bell, CFA

Susan Bell has excelled in the financial services industry her entire career.
With a Bachelor of Commerce degree, a Canadian Securities Institute designation and as a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder, Susan brings exceptional credentials and tremendous experience to her position of President at Bell Kearns & Associates.
Susan Joined Bell Kearns in 2002 following time at the boutique brokerage firm of MacDougall, MacDougall & MacTier, Marketing Solutions Inc. and Rogers Media in the financial services communication division. At Marketing Solutions Susan contributed to the research, development and management of the products offered to clients and it is where she developed her strong commitment to client service.
Susan is a key member of the decision-making team responsible for manager selection, asset mix and strategy development, in addition to working directly with many Bell Kearns clients.
